An invert roller speargun is a speargun where the rubber bands sit on the underside of the barrel and pull backwards using a pulley system, driving the spear shaft forward with higher efficiency and lower recoil than traditional sling spearguns.

Sling speargun:
Conventional sling banded speargun
Propulsion: Propels the shaft about three-quarters down the length of the barrel before the bands relax (unlike roller spearguns, which propel the shaft the entire length of the barrel).
Recoil: Can suffer from recoil, especially when overpowered with multiple pairs of bands.
Best Use: Ideal for hole hunting or in poor visibility particularly when using shorter barrel lengths.
